Dear Parents/Guardians,
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
School Calendar
As many of you may have seen on or read in the news, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman issued last week a royal order that stated the annual vacation for primary classes to begin just before the start of Ramadan: Thursday 14th May. As such, our school calendar has had to be revised to comply with this order (see attached) and all children will finish the school year on Thursday 14th May. Teachers will return 31st May – 18th June.
You can view and download our updated school calendar here: https://mnsdhahran.net/school-calendar/
To ensure our children are given time maximum before their exam period, I have canceled the April half term. All staff and children will be expected to be in school. If you have booked a holiday for this time, please inform your class teacher as soon as possible and provide them evidence of this. My deepest apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Ramadan Hours
The school will be open during Ramadan and the timetable has been adapted to ensure we can still have 5 x 50-minute lessons throughout. Additionally, we will ensure there are fasting and non-fasting rooms for children to access during their breaktimes.
Children can arrive from 8:15am and will start lessons 8:30am. The school day will finish at 1:30pm for all pupils.
For those who access Breakfast Club, it will be available from 7:45am.
Assessment Period & Events
Please note due to the King’s decree we must now move our robust assessment period. This timetable will be revised, and further information shared with you once it is confirmed.
Additionally, we are revising our Events Calendar and will share this once it is completed.
Thank you again for your support and cooperation; we hope to see you at our future events and meetings.
Best regards,
Kelly Wilkinson
